Good
questions.

Everything people ask before their first class. Still unsure? Call (747) 231·5550 or just book a free trial.

01Do I need experience to start?

No. Most members walk in on day one with zero background. We have a fundamentals track in every program for that exact reason.

02What should I wear to my first class?

Athletic clothing, no zippers or metal. For BJJ — sweats + t-shirt. For boxing/kickboxing — shorts + t-shirt. Bring a water bottle. We'll loan you gloves and a mouthguard for your first class.

03How safe are classes for kids?

All coaches background-checked + CPR/First Aid certified. Maximum 1:8 coach-to-kid ratio. Mat-side cameras stream live on YouTube so parents can watch from anywhere.

04How much does it cost?

Ladder pricing from $250/month (2 classes/week) to $500/month (unlimited + privates). Kids program $200/month. First class is always free.

05Can I try before I commit?

Yes. First class is always free, no commitment, no card on file. Walk in, take a class, decide.

06What ages do you teach?

From four-year-olds (Kajukenbo + No-Gi BJJ) to professional fighters. The standard is the same.

07Do you offer family discounts?

Yes. 15% off second family member, 25% off third or more. Apply at any location.

08Is sparring required?

No. Sparring is optional and only happens when the coach decides you're ready. You can train for months without sparring if you prefer drills.

09What if I have an injury or chronic condition?

Tell the coach before class. We modify drills for back/knee issues regularly. We recommend you consult your physician before starting any new exercise program.

10Where do I park?

Glendale: free parking lot in front. Montrose: street parking + side lot. Northridge: shared lot with adjacent businesses.

11Do you have a women's-only class?

Yes. Saturday 12:45 PM at Glendale, No-Gi BJJ, women-only, skill-focused.

12Are classes live-streamed? Can I be seen?

Mat-side cameras stream on YouTube during posted class hours. California is a two-party consent state — all members sign a video acknowledgment at enrollment. Minors require signed parental consent before any identifiable footage is publicly archived.
