No fine print, no surprises. The 5-business-day cancellation right is real. The liability waiver is real. The conduct standards on the mat are real. Here's all of it in one place.
By using kdmma.com (the “Site”) or entering any KD MMA facility, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the Site or visit the gym.
These Terms are a contract between you and KD MMA, operating in Glendale, Montrose, and Northridge, California. We refer to ourselves as “we” and “us.” We refer to you as “you” or “the member.”
You must be at least 18 years old to enroll yourself in any program or to enter a contract with us. If you're between 13 and 17 (inclusive), a parent or legal guardian must enroll you and sign the liability waiver on your behalf.
Children under 13 may only participate in age-appropriate programs (e.g., Little Tigers, Kids Judo) with a parent or guardian present at enrollment and with all paperwork completed by that adult.
Right now, this Site does not require an online account to browse, book a trial class, or read content. If we add online accounts in the future, the credentials are yours to keep secret and accurate. We reserve the right to terminate any account that misrepresents identity, shares credentials, or is used to abuse the Site.
An active KD MMA membership is established when you sign our written membership agreement at the front desk and make your first payment. Pricing, terms, and what's included are described on the pricing page and confirmed in the agreement, which is the controlling document for your membership.
Under California Civil Code §1812.85, you may cancel a new membership without penalty within five business days.
Notify us in writing (email or front desk). We treat your cancellation as effective on the date the notice is received or postmarked.
We will issue your refund within 10 business days of receiving your timely cancellation notice, by the same method you paid us.
If you cancel later, the membership agreement governs notice periods, pro-ration, and any cancellation fees. Generally, we ask for written notice 30 days in advance.
Martial arts training carries inherent physical risk. Before your first class, every participant (or their parent/guardian, if a minor) signs a written liability waiver, assumption-of-risk, and indemnification agreement. You may decline to sign it — but you can't train with us if you don't.
It releases KD MMA, its coaches, employees, and other members from liability for ordinary risks inherent to the activity: mat burns, bruises, soreness, sprains, and the kinds of injuries that can happen in normal grappling, judo, and kickboxing training when reasonable care is being taken.
It does not cover gross negligence, willful misconduct, or harm caused by our failure to maintain reasonable safety standards.
A parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver on behalf of any participant under 18. The waiver covers the minor's training, but not gross negligence by the academy. Photo/video consent is collected separately and is opt-in.
Class booking is currently handled via our gym-management platform and at the front desk. We ask that you book in advance for capacity-limited classes, particularly youth and women's-only sessions. If you can't make a class you booked, please cancel in advance — even short notice helps us free the slot for someone on the waitlist.
The gym only works because the people in it look out for each other. We expect respect on the mat, proper hygiene and gear, and we enforce a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, bullying, sexual misconduct, theft, or intimidation. The consequence is membership termination without refund; severe incidents are referred to law enforcement.
Personal photos and video during class are permitted only with coach approval and only of yourself and consenting partners. Recording other members (especially minors) without consent is prohibited and is grounds for membership termination.
All content on this Site — the KD MMA name, the diamond logo, photography, video, written copy, layout, and the live-stream archive — is owned by KD MMA or licensed to us. Personal, non-commercial sharing is encouraged. Reposting our content to compete with us, scraping it for AI training without authorization, or using the brand to misrepresent affiliation is not. For commercial-use permission, email trial@kdmma.com.
Tell your coach about injuries, conditions, or limitations before the round starts, not after. Modifications are normal. We've coached people in their seventies and people in active rehab. We just need to know.
To the extent permitted by California law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless KD MMA, its owners, coaches, and employees from any third-party claims arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your willful misconduct on our premises. This does not extend to claims arising from our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
If you have a complaint, please write to trial@kdmma.com or come into the gym and ask for the owner — most issues come down to a 10-minute conversation. If we can't resolve a dispute informally within 30 days of written notice, either party may pursue formal resolution. No class-action waiver is imposed; you retain your rights under California consumer-protection law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any non-arbitrated dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts of Los Angeles County, California. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date, post a homepage notice for at least 30 days, and email active members. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
